I have noticed that there is little rhyme or reason in the pregnancy notices, and that there is no telling how long you will be pregnant for from the time you get the first notice. I would be great if these notices were a little more regulated. More like the following:
Day 1- Notice to wife: You felt ill during the night
Day 2 - Notice to husband: Your wife can't stop stuffing her face
Day 3 - Notice to wife: Your husband won't talk to you because you're so moody
Day 4 - Notice to husband: Life has returned to normal - for the moment
Day 5 - Notice to wife: All the ladies are commenting on your pleasant glow
Day 6 - Notice to husband: You couldn't sleep last night with your wife's belly kicking you
Day 7 - Notice to wife: Your belly is so round you can't see your feet
Day 8 - Notice to husband: Your wife can't stop cleaning the house
Day 9 - Notice to both: You (or your wife) have (or has) given birth to a healthy baby boy (or girl)
This way we can follow the signs along and work our pregnancies into our role-playing.
