shark hunt rewards

Hello, I have a character who is 179 moons old, full stats, canoe weapon, and 39.1kg. Which is not the best comparing to 80+kg, and I know some people have shop bought weapons, but I'm still wondering why my loot is nothing more than eels and tubfish every time I join the hunt. There are lots and lots of larger prey announced, which is less than the number of players joining these hunts, yet although my character is not far from maximum, I never get even a mediocre prey like a turtle. I do this event for fun, but I make way more if I just go hunting in the ocean where I'm a lot less likely to get so badly hurt too. I am trying to raise weight, although when I do that and reach 90kg I will just evolve, so I do see this as a failsome prey distribution, at least when it comes to me.

Here is an example of the last hunt.

When your friends dived in, you followed the more courageous hunters who swam straight towards the fish. Your canoe and harpoon kit smashed into the great sharks but didn't fail. Many times, Mitoboy gave you a helping hand to get you away from in front of a moray eel rampage. Finally, in spite of quite a bad accident that lost you 22% health, plenty of luck allowed you to bring back 4 moray eels and 1 aggressive tubfish.

If you check the FAQ in age 2, you will see that there's general rules around the shark hunt. Here's some that might have effected your hunt:

All the hunters can take part. You are not guaranteed to catch anything, but if you are strong enough, you can catch amazing animals. This uses one hunt and happens after the update so all the members can gather round.

If the temperature is too low in your tribe, you cannot take part because the hunting water are cover with thick ice.
This is a clan hunt. To become the best hunter, you must be part of the tribe with the most hunters participating, have 15 friends from your clan taking part, a warm temperature in your village, good capabilities, luck and a decent weapon.

ALSO, your weight will effect what you are able to hunt. With 77.6 kg as the only difference between us (other than age but that has no bearing), I took in a blue shark, an armour plated turtle and 2 tubfish. That's pretty much my usual haul since I started taking part in shark hunts. You have to have at least 15 people from your clan listed on your friends list (add people on the day of the hunt, it doesn't matter so long as they are on your friends list while the shark hunt is happening). You also need to be in the clan with the most people joining in on the shark hunt. The hunt is divided into the better animals being taken in by the clan with the most hunters involved I believe.
