Vista is driving me crazy..

Postby Sterre » Sat Jan 03, 2009 11:59 pm

Not an HA related bug so I decided to post it here.

A few days back there was an update I could install, it was nescesarry to help resolving problems with Vista. I seriously don't know what kind of update it was....you know busy days...less time...hitted the button blindly.

Since that moment Vista is driving me crazy...HA,GA Main Forum(last one only in combination with an open window of HA or GA) the windows freezes a couple times a day. I have to start explore over again. So somebody please help....I'm desperate... :wish:

Maybe System Restore can help :hmmm:

Start -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore.

This will restore your computer to a point in the past - choose a day before that unfortunate update and it will restore the computer to that point. It doesn't affect your documents, only your software. Also, if you don't like the result, it's reversible ;)

But even if you get rid of it, the computer will soon try to install it again, so you'll have to watch out and uncheck it when it prompts you. Vista has tons of updates  Are you sure that the update is responsible for the bugs?

On the other hand, you can use XP

Ditch the Vista!

That's what I did last year and now I'm a happy free man in Ubuntu world!

I started with half/half with partitioned HD but now I'm 100% Vista free!

Good Luck!

another solution would be check which version of internet explorer you are using. If you like IE it is still possible to use, but you may want to upgrade it. Keep us posted on this. Im intrested on what your final descision or solution is.

personally i use IE8 on windows xp for one greek age and forum, and my wife uses firefox, so she doesnt log me out LOL

I have updated IE to version 8 and it's lesser now, but still happen once in a while. Nevertheless when it happens and you close your browser and open a new one it will ask you if you want to return to your last session. It's an improvement, but not a solution.
